Super G3:   It is a international standard that allows transmission and reception at up to 33.6 Kbps and uses fax handshaking techniques (called v.8 protocols in the fax industry) to further reduce transmission times.


Fax to Email :    This technology combines the functionality of a fax with the speed and confidentiality of email. Allowing faxes to be sent from a normal fax machine and arriving directly as an email at the recipient's computer.


Fax Machine Online :    Get your own email address, and start receiving email on your fax machine, without a computer or Internet Service Provider.


Email 2 Fax :  C It allows you to send faxes directly from your email. You simply attach the document to be faxed to an outgoing email message and hit send. The fax is then converted into a fax format by a fax server and delivered to the recipient's fax machine, in exactly the same format as if you sent it from a traditional fax machine.


Fax Broadcasting :   It is a unique application of computer based faxing that allows you to automatically send the same document(s) simultaneously to many different people.


PSTN :   This is the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) which supports analog voice and fax calls. It is also sometimes called the General Switched Telephone Network (GSTN).


ITU :   This is the International Telecommunications Union, which has been the parent body of the CCITT. As of 1993, all the former CCITT telecommunications standards activities will be handled by the ITU Telecommunications Standardization Sector (ITU-T).


JBIG :   This is the Joint Binary Image Group which is a group of experts from the CCITT and ISO who have developed the bi-level image standard ITU-T T.82. There is also a new pending JBIG-2 compression method.


V.34 :    This is the ITU-T recommendation describing an advanced modulation method which can be used to transmit data at rates of up to 33.6 kilobits per seconds over analog telephone lines (the PSTN).


API :   (Application Program Interface) This term describes an organized method for arranging communications between multiple computer programs or between multiple modules of a single program. Usually an API is either based on a standard file exchange method or a collection (library) of different functions.


Caller ID :   Calling Number Delivery (CND), better known as Caller ID, is a telephone service intended for residential and small business customers. It allows the called Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) to receive a calling party's directory number and the date and time of the call during the first 4 second silent interval in the ringing cycle.


CTI :   Computer Telephony Integration is a set of technologies for integrating computers and telephone systems.


PBX :   A PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is a small telephone switch owned by a company or organization. These organizations purchase PBX's to reduce the total number of telephone lines they need to lease from the telephone company. Without a PBX, a company will need to lease one telephone line for every employee with a telephone.


DTMF :   Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency or DTMF is a signaling system used for dialing telephone numbers using a numeric keypad, instead of using the spinning dial on old pulse-dialing telephones. DTMF was popularized under the trademark name Touch-Tone and is almost universally used in telephone instruments worldwide.


SIP :   ( Session Initiation Protocol ) is an IETF standard multimedia conferencing protocol, which includes voice, video, and data conferencing, for use over packet-switched networks.
